Material Change Makers

Planet Of
The Grapes

We transform organic grape marc from Provence, in the South of France, into next-generation Biomaterials.

Designed for Fashion and Lifestyle. Rooted in nature.

GROWN IN FRANCE, MADE IN ITALY.

Our key raw material begins in the vineyards of Provence, France – where winemaking is not just a craft, but a culture.

The vineyards that surround us are tendered to and nurtured all the year round, resulting in the annual harvest in the end of August and the beginning of September, when the differing varieties of grapes are pressed for the rose, white and red wines of Provence.

Once pressed for the wines, the grape skins, seeds, and stalks are considered as waste. This waste also known as “grape marc”, is what we work with.

We collect the grape marc directly from our partner organic Chateaux and Domaines, we transform it in Provence and then we send it to Milan, Italy, to our partner manufacturer to be made into our Biomaterials for the Fashion, Design, and Lifestyle worlds.

Our supply chain is made to be local, with as few stages and as few elements as possible. Local means creating a nearby community with shared values. Local means having a low carbon footprint and being planet respectful through shorter transportation routes. Local also means a reduced risk supply chain.

DESIGNED FOR A MORE RESPONSIBLE FASHION & LIFESTYLE WORLD

Rooted in the same terroir as Provence’s finest organic wines, our grape marc — skins, seeds, and stems left after pressing —becomes the base of a new-generation biomaterial: high-performance, ethical, and rich in origin.

We have intentionally designed and developed our materials to be responsible and respectful right from the start and we are by no means stopping here.

NON-TOXIC & EU REACH COMPLIANT | Free from harmful chemicals, safe for people and planet.

VEGAN & TRACEABLE100% animal-free, with materials sourced from Châteaux we know personally—sometimes hand-harvested alongside them.

BIO-BASED & EVOLVING | We currently use a bio-PU blend for durability and softness. It includes PU, which we’re openly working to phase out as better alternatives emerge.

COLLABORATIVE R&D | Our team of scientists and manufacturers co-create and problem-solve daily to improve and scale sustainably.

LOW IMPACT BY DESIGN | Short supply chain, low water use, and minimal transport —from vineyard to final material.

With over 2.4 million tons of grape marc available annually in France, we’re part of a wider movement to revalue waste — in fashion, fuel, farming, and more.

CIRCULAR THROUGH DESIGN, CIRCULAR THROUGH COMMUNITY

BIO-BASED

Our biomaterials are crafted with up to 50% grape marc, the remains of winemaking and a total of 80% bio-based.

ENGINEERED FOR REAL-WORLD CIRCULARITY

Our process commences with the upcyling and the circular design of grape marc. From there, we design our biomaterials for longevity and circular use, so that they can be loved, shared, and reused. While compostability is our end goal, the infrastructure and consumer habits aren’t there—quite yet.

INNOVATION IN MOTION

We are producing customised small runs of our biomaterials for you, Designers, Brands, retailers in the Fashion and Lifestyle worlds. In parallel we are going to be producing industrial scale biomaterials at one end of the spectrum and research and development in the laboratory, as new plant-based ingredients that align with our performance specs and values, come onto the market.

BUILT ON REGENERATIVE VALUES

By reducing vineyard waste and working in harmony with regenerative agriculture, we are rethinking how materials are sourced and made—starting from the soil up.

FROM CONCEPT TO COMMERCIAL STAGE

OUR BIOMATERIAL DEVELOPMENT

We have evolved from early prototype sheets to scalable rolls of biomaterial — 50cm wide, up to 40 linear metres.

We can customise our small scale production runs and produce to your colour palettes and signature shades.

Our biomaterials are compatible with conventional manufacturing and product making facilities and can be cut, assembled, stitched and edge painted into your unique designs.

Industrial production is next and it is coming soon.

THE PLANET OF THE GRAPES COLLECTIVE

Meet the Founder, Samantha Mureau, a once upon a time fashion buyer & trend forecaster for international Blue Chip Fashion retailers, who is on a mission to clean up the disastrous fashion industry, with much needed fresh new Biomaterials and an incredible collective of people who kick butt and make change happen.

At the raw materials end of our eco-collective and seeking change for the grape waste of 35 vineyards is L’Association of Vignerons of Saint Victoire, led by future focused & vineyard expert Jean-Jacques Balikian.

On the Science side, Green Chemist Advocate, Steve Block, is mentoring & guiding Samantha.

Agnès Thomasset and her team of future material scientists are driving the continuous R&D of the grape leather alternative at ITECH.

Jane Shepherdson, CBE, Sustainable Fashion Industry Expert & Director of London Fashion Fund is advisory to Samantha and Planet of the Grapes.

Marko Tvrtkovic, is a seasoned sustainability consultant with expertise in ESG, circular economy, and systems change and working with Samantha towards key certifications.

FROM VINEYARD TO HANDBAG

OUR FIRST DESIGN COLLABORATION

Our first material was brought to life in collaboration with London based brand, “Under Her Eyes”, who handcrafted the ‘Odette’ handbag in Northampton, in the UK— using our bespoke purple and pink colourways, inspired by the grapes themselves.

Launched during Fashion Revolution Week, this piece celebrates craftsmanship, circularity, and connection to origin.
